Enable America Teams with EDM Americas to Support Military at 4USTroops Golf Tournament
Raleigh, NC, June 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- For the fourth consecutive year Enable America is helping support wounded warriors through a partnership with the EDM4USTroops Charity Golf Tournament, to be held Monday, June 8, at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC. More than 225 golfers will participate, including many military veterans.
“The doctors didn’t think I would walk again,” said Melverton Mclaren, a U.S. Army veteran who will be among those honored. “But the support I’ve received since I’ve been home, from my family and my friends, EDM, has all been amazing. That’s part of the reason I’m where I am right now. That supporting cast is keeping me motivated.”
Mclaren and Enable America are among individuals and organizations to be recognized at the event, which will include donations from tournament proceeds. Wounded warriors to be honored are:
· SPC Melverton Mclaren (U.S. Army)
· PFC David McDowell (U.S. Army)
· SGT Michael Beck (U.S. Army National Guard)
· CPL Ryan Wightman (U.S. Marine Corps)
· SSGT Dale Beatty (U.S. Army National Guard)
“At EDM, we are dedicated to giving back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country,” said Arun Singh, tournament organizer and chief operations officer at EDM Americas. “We’re excited to bring the tournament back again this year, thanks to partners like Enable America who help make it possible.”
Enable America is rapidly growing to support the needs of people with disabilities and the NC military community. The nonprofit improves employment opportunities for people with disabilities through events that include Career Mentoring Days, VetConnect Job Seeker Workshops and Business Connection Meetings that promote diversity in the workplace.
“Each of the military members we’ll honor at the tournament is to be commended for their service and remembered for their sacrifice,” said Chet Culver, Enable America board member and former governor of Iowa. Governor Culver will represent Enable America at the tournament and present donation checks to the honorees.
