Murray, UT, June 04, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Utah radio midday talent, Lindsey from KHTB Alt. 94.9 FM, will be living and broadcasting live at the Humane Society of Utah beginning June 1, 2015, until her “adoption fee” of $3,000 is raised through donations. To celebrate National Adopt a Cat Month, Lindsey will be staying in the shelter 24 hours a day and sleeping in one of the HSU Kitty City condos until the donation goal is reached. Lindsey will be sharing the shelter animals’ plight for adoption and needed donations through social media and radio promotion.
“I’m excited to stay at the Humane Society of Utah with the animals,” said Lindsey. “However, I’m sure I’ll be ready to go home after a couple of days, which I know all the pets here would love to do as well.”
The public is invited to visit Lindsey during her daily broadcast from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Humane Society of Utah located at 4242 S. 300 W. in Murray, Utah, where she will be helping care for the adoptable animals until closing at 7 p.m. To interact with the shelter cats and view Lindsey’s sleeping accommodations in Kitty City via live webcam, visit www.alt949.com or www.utahhumane.org and click on the iPet Companion link on the Adopt a DJ page.
“This is a fun, creative way to raise donations for the animals and we’re very grateful to Lindsey and the companies supporting this event,” said Deann Shepherd, HSU representative.
Camping apparel and supplies for Lindsey have been provided by Gear 30 in Ogden. Meals provided by Honey Baked Ham.
Lindsey is passionate about animals and regularly features a Find a Friend Friday segment to showcase an adoptable animal from the HSU each week.
The Humane Society of Utah cares for an average of 350 animals each day. It costs an average of $30 per day to house and feed each animal. Over 50 pounds of cat litter and 120 pounds of dry cat and dog food are used each day. As a private nonprofit, the Humane Society of Utah is not part of any national organization nor does it receive any governmental financial support.
