National Security Service Donates Security Guard Service for NYC Charity Event
New York, NY, June 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- When scores of New York City’s hippest and most charitable women crowded into a popular Midtown Manhattan event space recently to help the homeless, they may have been the most visible donors giving to the cause.
But they weren’t the only ones contributing.
Quietly and behind the scenes, National Security Service (NSS), the security guard service staffing the fundraiser, was making an important contribution, too. The security guards on hand to keep the event safe, secure, and running smoothly were there thanks to the generosity of NSS, which donated the services to support the cause.
Staged collaboratively by Care for the Homeless and the Young Professionals Leadership Council “Swap, Drop & Shop for a Cause” the charity event, which provides clothing for the homeless, took place on a busy Saturday afternoon in the heart of the city, just blocks from Times Square. Organizers said afterwards that the donated security guard service was essential to the success of the event.
“We would not have the ability to collect such an abundance of beautiful clothes for the Susan’s Place women’s shelter or reach the fundraising goal for our Health Empowered Beauty Initiative without the extremely generous donation from NSS,” said Shani Penn, Council Chair of Care for the Homeless.
“We truly appreciate National Security Service and its support of our program,” she added.
NSS is a nationwide company that provides licensed security guards and security guard services in all fifty states, a company spokesman said. He added that the firm’s support for “Swap, Drop & Shop for a Cause” reflects its commitment to corporate good citizenship, as well as National Security Service's expertise in serving non-profit organizations.
Security for non-profits, he said, is one part of the NSS portfolio, which also includes everything from armed security guards to construction site security, retail security guards, disaster response, residential security services, and more.
At the May 16 “Swap, Drop & Shop for a Cause” fundraiser, the NSS security guards managed security for the bustling, multi-faceted event featuring elements of a cocktail party, vintage and indie designer fashion boutique, and clothing donations and swaps, hosted by noted actor and activist Gbenga Akinnagbe of HBO's The Wire & Fox's 24.
Add in music by a top DJ and a packed house of excited supporters and the NSS security guard service was critical to making “Swap, Drop & Shop for a Cause” run smoothly and reach its goals, Care for the Homeless’s Shani Penn summed up.
“We truly appreciate National Security Service's and your support of our program,” she said. “We hope for the opportunity to collaborate again in the future.”
