Kleinhaus, Partner, Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz will speak at a 2-hour webcast entitled “Significant Issues in Distressed Debt and Restructurings Explored: 2015 Update LIVE Webcast” This two-hour event is scheduled on July 22, 2015 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm (ET).

Event Synopsis:

This course will focus on significant current issues relating to corporate restructuring and bankruptcy. The panel of thought leaders and practitioners will provide a refresher on basic concepts as well as commentary on recent developments. The panel will include discussion of judicial decisions, major chapter 11 cases and the tax aspects of restructuring transactions.

The live seminar will address the following topics, among others:

- Recent decisions relating to prepayment clauses, including EFH and Momentive
- Recent decisions relating to secured creditor rights and remedies
- Recent developments in fraudulent transfer law, including attempts by estate -epresentatives to invoke the powers of the IRS
- D&O Insurance in chapter 11 cases
- The Trust Indenture Act and out-of-court restructurings
- Tax issues, including NOLs and cancellation of indebtedness

About Emil A. Kleinhaus

Emil A. Kleinhaus is a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. He focuses on commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. Emil is an author of numerous publications, including “Prepayment Clauses in Bankruptcy,” 15 Am. Bankr. Inst. L. Rev. 537 (2007) and “Debt Repayments as Fraudulent Transfers”, 88 Am Bankr. L. J. 307 (2014). In 2014, Emil was named by Law360 as one of eight “Rising Stars” in the Bankruptcy category. Emil is currently chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Sub-Committee on Fraudulent Conveyance Law.

Emil received a B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Yale College in 1999, and a J.D. from Yale Law School in 2002, where he was an Articles Editor of the Yale Law Journal. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Michael B. Mukasey of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and for Judge José A. Cabranes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
