Texas Gala Benefits Dementia Society of America
The nonprofit Dementia Society of America was the focal point of a fundraising gala sponsored by The Autumn Leaves Foundation.
Dallas, TX, June 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Dementia Society of America (DSA) was the select recipient in donations raised by “Tackling Dementia,” a fundraising gala sponsored by The Autumn Leaves Foundation™.
The gala was held May 1, 2015, at the Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas. A special guest of the football-themed event was Dallas Cowboys legend and three-time Super Bowl Champion Daryl “Moose” Johnston.
Representing the DSA were Kevin Jameson, founder and president, Ann Redfield, DSA Vice President, and DSA director Patrick Walsh and his wife, Peggie, of Doylestown.
“It was a phenomenal event,” said Jameson, who, along with Johnston, spoke to the 330-plus attendees about the importance of research, person-centered care, and education, among other aspects of brain health and memory care.
“We are sincerely grateful to The Autumn Leaves Foundation for choosing us to be the beneficiary of the fundraising efforts,” Jameson said. The resources will allow the DSA to greatly increase its educational efforts, and support services and life-enhancing quality-of-life programs - for those living with dementia, as well as their caregivers, he added.
The Dementia Society of America is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and educating the public on a wide spectrum of dementia-related conditions. For more information: 1-844-DEMENTIA or www.dementiasociety.org.
