Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic Selected as Official Medical Sponsor for Inaugural North American Caribbean Rugby Association Olympic Qualifying Event
Raleigh, NC, June 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic (ROC), Wake County’s largest and oldest orthopedic practice, has been selected as the Official Medical Partner for the 2015 North American Caribbean Rugby Association (NACRA) Olympic Qualifying Event. The two-day tournament will be held on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. This event will serve as the regional qualification for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, which is the first time in history the Olympics will feature a Rugby Sevens competition.
Raleigh Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon, Dr. Joseph Barker, will serve as the tournament’s director of orthopedic care for the tournament, and Dr. Matthew Boes will assist. In addition, Raleigh Orthopaedic athletic trainers will be on the sidelines throughout the entire competition.
The national men's and women’s rugby teams from the following countries are eligible to participate in the NACRA Tournament: Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks & Caicos, and the United States. The top finisher in each of the men’s and women’s competitions will automatically qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games.
