Leading Non-Compete Litigator Relocates Practice to Denver: Fisher & Phillips Partner, Mike Greco, Has Extensive Trade Secret and Non-Compete Experience
Michael R. Greco, a partner with Fisher & Phillips LLP and one of the nation’s leading non-compete and trade secrets attorneys, has relocated his practice to Denver. He specializes in litigating claims and issues nationally that arise from the movement of employees between competing firms.
Denver, CO, June 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- One of the nation’s leading non-compete and trade secrets attorneys has relocated his practice to Denver. Michael R. Greco, a partner with national labor & employment law firm Fisher & Phillips LLP, was formerly with the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Todd Fredrickson, managing partner of the Denver office, said, “In today’s hyper-competitive business environment, Mike’s unique skillset in the area of trade secrets and unfair competition is critically important to employers, particularly in the high-tech, bioscience and finance industries, which have seen phenomenal growth in Colorado and around the nation.”
Greco is a key member of the Fisher & Phillips Employee Defection and Trade Secrets Practice Group. His law practice is focused on litigating claims and issues nationally that arise from the movement of employees between competing firms. Greco also counsels and assists corporate clients in developing and implementing local and/or national programs to protect their competitive assets against employee defection, and to minimize risks when hiring employees from competitors.
“There are very few attorneys nationally with the depth of experience that Mike brings to his practice,” said Fisher & Phillips Chairman and Managing Partner Roger Quillen. “His relocation to Denver, with its booming economy and centralized location, will allow our trade secrets team to better service our clients in Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Region and around the country.”
Greco and other members of the firm’s trade secrets team routinely deploy themselves throughout the country, often on short notice, to handle court actions and arbitration hearings relating to covenants not to compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements, and trade secrets. The team is increasingly dealing with related areas of the law such as employee raiding, duty of loyalty, the federal Computer Fraud & Abuse Act, the federal Economic Espionage Act, and state statutes dealing with computer security and confidential information.
Greco has personally prosecuted and defended more than 400 employee defection and recruitment matters in a wide variety of industries. This includes injunction and damages actions in at least 35 different state and federal courts, in addition to dozens of arbitration cases.
Greco is eager to relocate to Colorado, both for personal and business reasons. “I am excited to be joining a fast-growing office in a vibrant city with a thriving business and legal community,” he said. “My national clients have enthusiastically endorsed this move, and my family can’t wait to experience Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle and the state’s renowned natural beauty.” One of Greco’s clients, financial services giant, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., is rapidly growing its newly opened Lone Tree, Colorado campus. Plans are underway to grow Schwab’s number of Lone Tree employees from 1,500 to approximately 4,000. Greco has represented Schwab nationally for more than ten years.
Greco was included in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. He was also recognized in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers – Rising Stars in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010, and was previously named as a Lawyer on the Fast Track by American Lawyer Media. He also is one of the co-organizers and leaders of the Fisher & Phillips Financial Services Recruitment Litigation Conference, which recently was held for the tenth time in 2015. He is the co-editor of the firm's Non-Compete and Trade Secrets Blog, and is a frequent speaker on trade secrets and non-compete related topics, including a recent appearance at the Trade Secrets Law Summit sponsored at Intel’s headquarters.
