Nation’s First Culinary Accelerator Enters Second Season With Promising Beverage Focused Series
Break Fast & Launch is the nation's first culinary accelerator that bridges the gap between startup and sustainable. The program is currently working with beverage makers and sellers, including craft brew, coffee, and juice businesses.
San Antonio, TX, June 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Break Fast & Launch, the nation’s first culinary business accelerator, has entered its second season with a beverage-focused cohort comprised of brewers, coffee makers, juicers, and paleta makers. Recognizing the multiple verticals within the culinary industry, the program goes beyond the business aspects of opening a restaurant, curating a curriculum that caters specifically to beverage makers and sellers.
Operating through a synergistic approach, participants have access to quality advice on important subjects ranging from Human Resources to City Regulations through one-on-one mentorship, speakers, former program graduates, and peer-to-peer interactions. The idea behind Break Fast & Launch is to build a solid foundation, and create a close-knit network that encourages partnerships and commerce through community.
Nine teams with a wide and diverse set of ideas, and industry experience, were recently accepted into the program. This cohort taps into trending beverage niches, and includes several brewers, at a time when craft brewing is in its renaissance. Members of this season’s cohort include:
Black Laboratory Brewing - Founded by a pair of scientists seeking to brew their own recipes at a production level.
Randy Ward - Home brewer and 25-year oil industry veteran, interested in creating a neighborhood friendly brewpub.
San Antonio Brewing Company - A mid-level production brewery catering to locals and tourists in downtown San Antonio.
Revolucion Coffee + Juice - An established coffee shop, and pioneer in cold-pressed juices, seeking to expand a Kombucha line.
Rosella Coffee - A one-year-old coffee shop, with an extremely impactful presence in the community.
Utopia Play Café - A cafe and playcare wanting to improve their current concept.
Maribel Gonzales - Small business owner interested in starting an Aguas Frescas Juice Truck.
Jose Rodriguez - Owner and operator of a new Paleta shop which will be opening in downtown San Antonio.
Con Safos - A new restaurant, fruteria, and bar focusing on cuisine and cocktails unique to San Antonio.
The Break Fast & Launch beverage cohort runs from May through June, culminating in a Dinner Day where participants celebrate the end of their program, mingle with local press, businesses and entrepreneurs, and speak on their culinary venture.
