California’s Starchild Dance Brings 100 Years of Urban Dance to Montreal and New York City Festivals
Frankie Manning Lindy Hop Ambassador, Starchild Dance makes international debut at Montreal Swing Riot; Performs across NYC's 5 Boroughs with City Parks' Summer Stage
New York, NY, June 27, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Starchild Dance reaches the midpoint of its highly praised summer season with performances and workshops at some of the most notable dance festivals across North America. Starchild Dance kick-started the summer teaching, performing and even battling at Seattle’s Camp Jitterbug, May 24- 25. Then the dance duo, wowed opening weekend at the 37th Annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival.

Starchild Dance now makes its international debut at Montreal Swing Riot, July 3-5, during the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the largest festival of its kind. As A Frankie Manning Lindy Hop Ambassador, Starchild Dance treats audiences to their acclaimed Hip Hop B-Love Workshop which weaves together Hip Hop, Jazz, and Lindy Hop for a comprehensive dance experience.
Starchild Dance rounds out July gracing stages throughout New York with its B-Love’s Hip Hop Jazzy Groove performance and youth workshops as part of City Park’s Foundation Summer Stage and Summer Stage Kids line up. (See guides for specific locations and dates.)

Oakland, CA native, Traci Bartlow is a sought-after dancer, lecturer, and choreographer with over 20 years’ experience teaching dance. Using African, Jazz and Hip Hop dance as a base for her choreography, her credits include the jazz/opera “The Sisyphus Syndrome” by Amiri Baraka; New York Hip Hop Theater Festival; and Illadelph Legends Dance Festival in Philadelphia. In 2011, Ms. Bartlow was honored with the Frankie Manning Ambassador of Lindy Hop award. She has served as consultant and guest teacher for Lorraine Hansberry Theater in San Francisco, Herrang Dance Camp in Sweden, B-Boy Summit in Los Angeles, and guest faculty for UC Davis and UC Berkeley dance departments.
