About Karen P. Lim-Smith
Karen Lim-Smith manages Music Starz Studios, a music studio providing music education in violin, viola and piano lessons. She is a performer and teacher, having taught violin for over 20 years. She performed frequently with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, the Tulsa Opera Orchestra, Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra and has toured with Andrea Bocelli and Diana Ross and the Supremes throughout the U.S. She has made six CD’s with her husband Jay Smith. Lim-Smith won first prize at the Mozart National String Competition. She is affiliated with the Denton Music Teachers Association, the Music Teachers National Association, the National Association of Professional Women, the International Women’s Leadership Association, National Association of Distinguished Professionals and the Continental Who’s Who. Music Starz Studios raised money from 2011-2015 at Grapevine Mills Mall for: Buckner International Orphan Care, Pass on the Gift – Heifer International to end world hunger and poverty and care for the Earth, Captain Hope’s Kids, Feeding America and Food for the Poor. Lim-Smith and her students devote much of their time and effort to providing free concert performances for hospice patients in affiliation with Good Shepherd Hospice and Hospice Compassus.
