JamaPunji.pk, an Education Portal Designed by Systems Limited for the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Now Live

Islamabad, Pakistan, June 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Senator Ishaq Dar, inaugurated the JamaPunji.pk portal designed and implemented by Systems Limited for the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as a single-point learning resource to drive awareness about the financial products offered in the capital market.

The portal is not only integrated with SECP’s initiatives in the financial sector but is also designed to be informative, user-friendly and easy-to-use, with a comprehensive mobile app available on both Android and Apple stores. Exclusive features on the web portal include a Knowledge Centre that answers financial queries, Online Seminars and Webinars to educate the public about financial products, Insurance & Investment Checklists to give them coherent guidelines, Quizzes so that they may test what they’ve learnt, and a Stock Trading Simulator so that people can practice their stock trading skills.

JamaPunji.pk is also loaded with fun and useful features as well, such as calculators, games, mobile applications, social media and SMS service alerts, legal action alerts, a comprehensive youth outreach program, newsletters, online guides and e-books, a forum to discuss issues and trends of the financial world, and a service desk for complaints.

Senator Dar thoroughly encouraged the initiative taken by SECP saying, “Whether it is funds, bonds, shares, stocks, insurance, capital markets or any other financial instruments, the citizens of Pakistan can self-educate themselves, paving their way to an effective and intelligent financial or strategic decision.”

SECP’s Investor Education Program aspires to improve general knowledge about finance among the Pakistani public to help them make sound investment decisions. It aims to impart knowledge about financial markets and products to address the different segments of society.

When the chairman of SECP, Zafar ul Haq Hijazi, was asked to share his vision of the program’s future, he said, “in accordance with its mandate, the SECP, under its Investor Education Program, will be imparting knowledge via digital as well as physical means through seminars and workshops, to create a positive impact on society.”

He also added that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) would be inked with leading universities and schools across the country to hold seminars for students who are keen to learn more. Arrangements will also be made with professional bodies through MoUs, he said.
