Fantasy and Festivities Abound at the Northern California Renaissance Faire
Enjoy 5 weekends of Modern day fun in a Medieval setting.
Hollister, CA, June 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Travel back in time to a place where adventure awaits, mystical creatures roam free and where arts, music, and festivities flourished day and night at the Northern California Renaissance at Casa de Fruta, near Hollister.
The Northern California Renaissance Faire, starting September 19 to October 18, 2015, allows actors and actresses of all ages to explore their fantasies when they step back in time to the village of Willingtown. Everyone becomes a subject of the famous Queen Elizabeth I and is able to experience the fruitfulness of her reign through exotic performances, music, dance and revelry. Be you royals, maidens, knights or peasants, everyone has a merry time throughout the day and into the night.
The Renaissance represents a time of enlightenment and the village captures all of the activities that took place during that enchanted time, such as face painting, hair-braiding, comedy shows, fortune tellers, sword fights, fencing and many delightful performances.
Throughout the five weekends, attendees are free to meander through the Marketplace where they will find a variety of master artisans offering old world designs, hand-crafted works of art, blown glass, knives and swords, leather, wood, jewelry and much more.
Courageous Knights will be ready to engage in a battle of skill to please and entertain the Queen. In the afternoon, all are invited to cheer on the Knight of their choice as they battle for the Queen's praise and show their loyalty in a full contact joust in the World Tournament of Champions Arena.
Immerse yourself in the Renaissance culture by dressing in character of the time. If you don't have a costume, stop by The Belrose costume rental store which offers everyone the opportunity to mimic the taste and style from different social statuses. You can become any renaissance native you want from prim and proper princesses or swashbuckling pirates to colorful gypsies or royalty.
Wander the streets of Willingtown sipping on ale or cider while eating a juicy turkey leg and enjoy the fascinating and wonderful Renaissance era.
Advance tickets will be available in August and anyone who purchases online tickets before September 19 will receive $5 off admission. Children 12 and under will be admitted free entrance for all five weekends, and during opening weekend, general ticket pricing is “Two-For-One.”
