PMMC, a leading provider of revenue cycle management solutions, announces the release of its bundling and population health benchmarking module within its market analysis tool, Online Analytics.
Charlotte, NC, June 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- PMMC, a leading provider of revenue cycle management solutions, announces the release of its bundling and population health benchmarking module within its market analysis tool, Online Analytics.
Subscribers will have the ability to access the portions of the national CMS Standard Analytics File that have been formatted around bundling and population health initiatives. This new functionality presents an average patient’s annual consumption across the continuum of care and for bundled episodes within defined markets and disease categories.
“This data is intended to help hospitals better understand the payer’s perspective related to the market when it comes to Medicare bundled case rates and population heath,” said Roger Shaul, President at PMMC. “Although it’s a sample set much like insurers use, it represents a valuable benchmark tool that hospital and health care system staff can use to compare and evaluate their prospects and bid packages for new Medicare bundled case payments and population health. The data is presented by age, sex, geographic region, and disease category.”
The data set is based on episodic data from the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare (CMS). The Standard Analytics File contains a sampling of 5% of the Medicare beneficiaries and their related claims across the continuum of care. Patient services can be benchmarked by probable bundles, displaying the number of claims, charges, and payments by provider type (i.e. Inpatient, Outpatient, Professional, SNF, DME, Home Health, Hospice, etc.). The data is presented by state and MSA. This data can be arrayed for various episode lengths (30, 60, 90, and 120 days). For Population Health benchmarking, the data set can be segmented by age, sex and disease category and provides users with the average annual consumption for the patients in the user selected categories.
