Second Amendment Soldiers: Unity Through Community, Now Accepting Volunteers and Members

Find out about the founders of Second Amendment Soldiers, how the company struggled to find its feet, and finally got up and running.

Pittsburgh, PA, July 01, 2015 --(PR.com)-- After years of set back and struggles, the website 2ASNET.com, a pro gun social network, is finally active and ready for members.

The idea of the social network is to allow people who are pro gun and pro second amendment a place to come together to discuss these topics without the concern of offending someone or being reported.

“You go on Facebook and post something about guns, and you’ve got 50 people who don’t like guns calling you a gun nut and telling you that you have no business having a gun,” Kevin Kieffer, Director of Sales and Program Development for 2ASNET.com explains. “Here, you can post something and you don’t have that. You may get into a debate over which gun is better, but never whether or not you should be able to have one.”

The organization focuses not only on second amendment issues but also on bringing community members together. Once signed up, members join a “chapter” which is based off of where they are located. The chapters and the organization itself plan to hold offline events such as picnics and family days. Additionally, it has emergency supplies available for sale on the website and encourages families and local chapters to have a plan in place in case of an emergency.

“When I was growing up, everyone knew each other in the neighborhood, you knew if something happened who to call and where to go, and we’ve lost that,” Kieffer says. “I want to bring that back. I want to bring people together online because that’s where we like to be, but I also want to bring back the human aspect of it.”

2ASNET.com has been a dream in the making for Kieffer. His wife of 35 years, Jane, is the CEO of the company. His daughters and their husbands help run the website as well as close friends that have seen him through this journey.

“Kevin wanted something that we could all be a part of, that we all felt was important,” Jane Kieffer states. “We wanted a legacy to leave to our kids and our grandkids.” The project began in 2012, but failed to be actualized until late 2014. The Kieffers’ met and worked with multiple web developers to get the website built and functioning, but each developer was unable to complete the process, telling them what they wanted was not possible without more money and more technology.

Never discouraged, Kevin kept his head up, continued to pray for guidance, and in October 2014 met Rob from Wasted Sanity Studios. Rob was a coder and developer that shared the Kieffer family’s passion for the project and delved in head first. After six months of blood, sweat and tears, he delivered 2ASNET.com to the Kieffers, in its entirety, exactly how they had envisioned it.

Interested Patriots can join 2ASNET.com for free as a Volunteer, or as a paid membership with additional benefits and rewards. All members have access to the websites social media aspect, as well as access to news stories, firearm safety information, emergency preparedness information, a trading post, as well as many other features that are going to be added in the future.

“It’s been a long and hard road,” Kevin concedes with a nod, “but in the end, it’ll be worth it. If we can use this to educate one person, save one life, keep one person safe, it’s all been worth it.”
