Atlantic Star Development's Future Star is Shining Bright
A company looking to bring regulation into the online shipping auction wars.
Niagara Falls, NY, July 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- With Consumers not having many options for sending shipments out of state or even regional, Atlantic Star Development is in the works of launching Fr8.bid. Fr8.bid will operate similar to its major competition with one key difference. Regulations! “The problem," says Atlantic Star Development CEO and Founder Kati Rodriguez, "is that the consumer has no idea who is handling their belongings. The shipping industry is actually very regulated and carriers must be registered with Federal and State Authorities, and have proper insurance.”
The way these sites seem to operate is pretty simple: Someone has an item to ship, and so they post it and then service providers bid, once the shipping party accepts the bid that’s pretty much it.
The problem is:
1. The companies making the introductions are not regulated and the shipper has no idea who is coming to pick up their stuff.
2. Many carriers that place bids on these sites are just guys with trucks who do not have proper insurance and are usually not properly registered with the Government.
3. It gets worse. The company who gets hired to move the items, ends up hiring someone else to do the move. This is known as a “3PL” (third party logistics) arrangement, which is normal in the Logistics Industry, however, all parties need to be regulated and freely make available insurance and Operating Authorities to all involved in the transaction.
These TV show auction sites are not doing any of this, and doing a quick search using your favorite search engine reveals the outrage of customers all over the world. Here are some examples of what customers are saying.
A customer from Moncton, New Brunswick says: “paid $1200 thru interact as I trusted (the site) and service provider is registered with (the site). After couple of weeks, I see an attention message that - the service provider is currently suspended from the site.”
A customer from Mountain View, California says: “I booked a motorbike transporter thru (the site) and bike was damaged by transporter. (the site) claims they don't vet these transporters in any way so they may be unlicensed, uninsured fly by night operators.”
Rodriguez continues, “Our plan is to collect insurance and operating authorities from registered haulers, un-regulated haulers can still join but we will make the person paying the bill aware if the carrier is a verified carrier or not.” Customers can still get great deals, but we just want to make sure they have choices.”
Fr8.bid plans on other significant upgrades but would rather stay in stealth mode until funding is in place.
Fr8.bid is a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlantic Star Development LLC which has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to raise capital to fund this business startup along with a diverse set of other markets.
Atlantic Star Development filed form D with the US Securities and Exchange Commission back in June, this boutique investment firm is on the right track as they are getting into some diverse markets that look promising.
