Enterprising Women Welcomes Three New Members to Advisory Board
Ellen Bailey Dickson, Sylvana Coche, and Sassa Akervall to Serve as Board Members for Women Business Owners’ Publication
Raleigh, NC, July 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine, has appointed Ellen Bailey Dickson, Sylvana Coche and Sassa Akervall to serve on the Enterprising Women advisory board. The board is comprised of a select group of women and men who show their support for the publication and give back to the women business owners’ community, providing leadership, motivation and inspiration to thousands of women entrepreneurs across North America and around the world.
Dickson is the founding principal of Bailey Edward, where she brings design into an exciting reality for commercial, healthcare, higher education, interior design and military design projects. Her leadership skills create a positive team environment among the designers, clients and contractors. Dickson holds a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she studied at the Ecole d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme in Versailles, France. She was named Young Architect of the Year by the American Institute of Architects Chicago Chapter, as well as one of the “Top 100 Women Making A Difference” by Today’s Chicago Women.
Coche founded Gravity Pro Consulting in 2007 and brings more than two decades of thought leadership to the field of Information Services. Coche received Enterprising Women’s 2015 Enterprising Women of the Year Award in 2015. She started her career with Rolex Industries in Geneva, Switzerland, an early adopter of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) technologies. She then spent several years with Cap Gemini as a management consultant and later became vice president of a leading SAP reseller. The culmination of her career was founding Gravity Pro Consulting, which she accomplished with only her laptop and no investors. Through her vision, Gravity Pro achieved SAP Gold Partner status and holds the distinction of being the only woman-owned business authorized to resell all SAP license solutions. Today, Gravity Pro is a leading reseller, integrator and value add partner with many software firms such as Software AG, Greenlight Corp, Neptune Software, Fortify and many others, providing solutions that support the enterprise with cyber security, cloud computing, data warehouses and data analytics. In addition to Coche’s professional accomplishments, she has established Caillou Blanc, a foundation where world leaders, visionaries and heads of industry can come together to create and manifest their vision of the future.
Akervall founded Akervall Technologies, doing businesses as SISU Mouthguards, in 2008. Since then, she has grown the company from a one-woman business to an 18-employee manufacturing success story with a newly renovated 16,000 square foot plant in Saline, Michigan. Akervall grew the company by promoting brand development strategy, focusing on web marketing and creating a unique R&D plan with Small Business Innovation Research grants from the Department of Defense and the National Science Foundation. Today, she is focusing on leading a second-stage company with high growth potential. In 2014, Akervall Technologies won the advanced material track in the Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition, in addition to becoming one of “50 Companies to Watch” in Michigan.
