Metrics Contract Services Appoints Vice President of Analytical Services
Providing strategic oversight to a team of 100+ chemists, Keith Moore will support Metrics Contract Services with its rapidly growing client base and ever-evolving international quality compliance regulations.
Greenville, NC, July 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Metrics Contract Services (Metrics) has appointed Keith Moore as vice president of analytical services.
Moore is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the company’s analytical services team — comprised of some 100 chemists — as it delivers scientific excellence and great customer experiences for clients.
Moore’s appointment comes as the company is experiencing significant growth, especially internationally, said John S. Ross, executive vice president of Metrics. Moore will help Metrics build greater efficiencies within its analytical lab operations while maintaining strict quality compliance standards for which the company is known.
“Metrics enjoys a long-standing reputation for both thoughtful science and high-quality craftsmanship, and Keith will ensure that we continue to deliver on those promises for our clients worldwide,” Ross said.
The analytical services division at Metrics helps clients determine and ensure the identity, purity, potency and performance of drug products by conducting analytical chemistry and microbiology tests, method development and validation, and stability studies in compliance with international standards. Initially founded as an analytical laboratory, Metrics has evolved into a full-service contract pharmaceutical development and manufacturing organization capable of handling all aspects of supporting clients in bringing oral-dose drug products to market.
Working in a 28,000-square-foot, current Good Manufacturing Practices-compliant facility, Metrics’ analytical chemists and technicians routinely handle a wide range of compound types including potent, cytotoxic, light-sensitive, temperature-sensitive, DEA-regulated, and other challenging molecules. A lead analytical scientist routinely acts as each client’s point of contact to ensure that quality science remains at the forefront of all projects.
Moore is no stranger to the analytical team at Metrics, having started working in the division in 1998 as a laboratory analyst and consistently taking on roles of increasing responsibility to become senior manager of analytical services by 2012. He left to serve as senior manager of technical operations at Salix Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company offering gastrointestinal treatments, where he managed many R&D and commercial activities at numerous contract organizations.
“Keith garnered a lot of respect and goodwill during his tenure here, and we are very glad that he’s come back,” Ross said.
Moore holds a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from N.C. Wesleyan College and a master’s degree in business administration with honors from East Carolina University.
