NAFA Welcomes Sheryl Martin as New Chief Operations Officer
Former Director of Firm Practice Management for American Institute of Certified Public Accountants brings experience and energy to NAFA.
Princeton, NJ, July 09, 2015 --(PR.com)-- NAFA Fleet Management Association is pleased to welcome Sheryl Martin as the Association’s new Chief Operations Officer. Martin is an accomplished tactician at both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, most recently with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. She spent approximately 12 years with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and was the Director of Firm Practice Management for that organization approximately six years. She is a CPA and has a strong background in process management.

I am certain that will continue to grow, and I’m glad to be a part of it as we reach those new frontiers of service and influence for our membership.”
NAFA’s Chief Executive Officer Phillip E. Russo, CAE said of Martin, “She is a high-energy, ‘can do’ leader, and will be a great resource for NAFA.”
Martin steps into the Association at a time of increased activity and influence for NAFA. With enrollment in NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program now available to fleets seeking to create and maintain a more sustainable professional regimen; continued involvement with NAFA’s Government Affairs Committee in the legislative and regulatory decision-making that affects fleets all over North America; and the industry standard in fleet education, NAFA’s Certified Automotive Fleet Manager Program (CAFM®) among other initiatives, NAFA is indeed busy and getting impressive results.
Martin will succeed COO James R. Marks, CAE, CPCU, who was a key figure in steering NAFA’s reorganization process in 2014. Marks will conclude his time with NAFA at the end of July. He took an integral role in the process of choosing Martin for the position.
Russo said of Marks, “(James) was able to step in with fresh eyes, to see where NAFA’s working relationships were making the most sense, and determined how to best build upon these. Equally as important, he could see where some of our efforts had calcified, and could initiate changes.”
