Geographic Solutions Upgrades Systems to Include Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Compliant Functionality
Palm Harbor, FL, July 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Geographic Solutions recently upgraded 44 local and state workforce systems to include new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) application features. After months of planning and development, Geographic Solutions successfully applied the first phase of WIOA functionality in all of its current Virtual OneStop systems on time for the July 1st implementation.
The major upgrade comes right after the highest attended 2015 Workforce Technology Conference in June, which focused on WIOA system functionality and included hands-on demonstrations for users. The new features in the application will assist staff at state and local workforce boards with meeting the goals, expectations, and federal reporting benchmarks under WIOA legislation.
President Barack Obama signed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) into law in 2014. WIOA fosters collaboration and requires states to align their workforce development efforts to ensure that quality employment and training services are accessible to job seekers so they can gain the skills needed to obtain employment.
