Los Angeles Charitable Foundation Summer Celebration Benefits Children of the Night
Los Angeles, CA, July 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Children of the Night, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing America’s children from the ravages of prostitution, has received a $30,000 donation from the Los Angeles chapter of The Charitable Foundation. For the second year in a row, the chapter’s donation was $10,000 over the previous year’s.
The real estate agent-run chapter raised the funds June 18 at its third annual Summer Celebration, silent auction, and raffle. Comprised of agents and staff from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, the chapter sold 200 tickets to the fundraiser at the Encino home of agents Andrew Manning and Stephen Dubin.
“We are grateful that The Charitable Foundation dedicated this year’s event to help our nonprofit rescue more boys and girls from sex trafficking,” said Dr. Lois Lee, founder and president of Children of the Night. “It was an honor, a pleasure, and a lot of fun to visit with chapter members and their guests. Rescuing America’s children from prostitution can’t be done without the support of individuals and organizations like the Foundation.”
Van Nuys-based Children of the Night, which Lee founded in 1979, is the only full-service program in North America designed specifically to rescue children who have been forced to prostitute in the United States. Additional information is at www.childrenofthenight.org.
“I am so proud of our Los Angeles board members and agents who turned out on a perfect summer evening to support Children of the Night. Our agents, friends and family are enriched by the experience and we appreciate everyone who worked so tirelessly to make it a stellar event,” said Kathy King, Vice President and Regional Manager, Los Angeles Region, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
Event sponsors were agents Manning and Dubin, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, Pickford Escrow Company, McKernan Inspections, Top Termite, and First American Home Buyers Protection Corp.
