Local Hingham Entrepreneur Returns to Roots to Grow New South Shore Irrigation and Fertilizer Company

Hingham, MA, July 15, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Pungitore Irrigation & Fertilizer recently celebrated its first full year in business. The small South Shore lawn services company has been enjoying steady growth, recently adding on personnel and expanding reach to new territories.

The seeds for the company were planted long before the official start. Michael Pungitore founded Pungitore Irrigation & Fertilizer after years of experience within his father’s landscaping business. Seeing a window of opportunity to gain and contribute new knowledge, Pungitore obtained pesticide licensing and irrigation certification and began building a client base by branching off of his father’s business.

Pungitore had not always dreamt of a career in lawn care. Originally in pursuit of the classic “American Dream,” Pungitore attended University of New Hampshire to achieve a degree in finance. Prior to graduation, he secured a job at Brown Brothers Harriman, where he worked for the next three years before coming to the realization that corporate America was not where his heart was.

“I was craving freedom and control over my own time,” Pungitore recalls of his decision to shift his career path. “It just hit me that I’d rather feel fulfilled digging holes than rot at a desk waiting for the clock to hit 5 o’clock for the rest of my life.”

After a lifetime in the world of landscaping, six years of performing fertilizer services and five years of irrigation experience, Michael Pungitore forged ahead and established Pungitore Irrigation & Fertilizer as its own brand, offering a personalized service alternative to the large competitors in the area.

“I hope to create a business that is recognized for doing great work and can be trusted by its clients. Too many companies lie about what ‘needs’ to be done, when in fact it’s just a way to up sell work,” said Pungitore. “I don’t do that. I never have. I tell people what should be done in my honest opinion. I learned that from my father and I’ve seen how honesty always pays off.”
