Jane Thomas Launches Her New Website (Under Development): Learn About Sexuality - Sex Education for All Ages
Jane Thomas, sex researcher & educator, author of the female sexuality forum "Ways Women Orgasm" has launched her new venture - Learn About Sexuality, which will provide sex education for young and old alike. Likely completion date will be 2021.
London, United Kingdom, July 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Parents and schools are coming under increasing pressure to educate young people (from the age of 5 and even younger) in sexual matters. This has arisen in part because of the universal embarrassment many adults experience in talking about sex. But it is also a reaction to the explosion of sexual content (much of it unrealistic and misleading) that is now available on the internet.
Until they can catch up with well-funded pornography, the information that is provided by schools and family may be less attractive to youngsters. So it is important that young people have access to alternative sex information (that is backed by expert opinions and the research findings) should they be motivated to look for it. This site attempts to provide parents, teachers and children with the appropriate material to build an understanding of some of the sexual issues that may arise throughout our lives.
Ironically the internet, as long as it can provide a trusted and unbiased source of information, may be a more comfortable environment for young people to learn about sex. A website (such as this one) provides the freedom for an individual to explore issues and ask their own questions (at the level they are comfortable with) in complete privacy. Some youngsters may find this preferable to dealing with the embarrassment of public sessions with friends and teachers.
How do we know that sex information can be trusted? It can seem that every source has an angle and a bias to present information in a light that upholds their emotional or political beliefs.
Learn About Sexuality avoids such bias by presenting:
- The sex research together with an analysis of the issues that may have influenced the findings.
- Evidence from Nature (biological precedents) that show other mammals having similar behaviours and responses to ours.
- A detailed analysis of how orgasm is achieved regardless of an individual’s gender or sexual orientation.
- A comparison of the similarities and differences in male and female sexual anatomy.
- A critical analysis of how and why male and female sexual behaviours differ.
The aim is to challenge current beliefs and to suggest why these misconceptions exist, to ensure consistency between the facts presented whilst avoiding contradictions and anomalies in the explanations given.
