Manchester, United Kingdom, July 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A One Day National Conference
School Admissions Conference
Friday 25 September, Manchester
About the event:
The national School Admissions Conference is perfectly timed to enable attendees to come to grips with the revised School Admissions Code which came into effect in December 2014.
As the policy of freeing schools from local authority control has gained impetus through the establishment of academies and free schools, hear from the Chief Adjudicator from the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA) on findings from the OSA annual report. Take this opportunity to participate in an interactive panel discussion with schools that are their own admission authority to discuss fairness in their school admissions policy.
With further pressures on local authorities from increased in-year admissions, explore how local authorities, academies and free schools can work together to meet demand and manage oversubscription.
Expert speakers include:
Chair: Dr John Livesey, Director of Adult and Children’s Services, Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council
Keynote: Elizabeth Passmore OBE, Chief Adjudicator, Office of the Schools Adjudicator
Jonathan Lewis, Service Director, Education, People Resources and Corporate Property, Peterborough City Council
Gareth Dawkins, Executive Principal, Bradford Academy
Sharon Chappell, Assistant Ombudsman, Local Government Ombudsman
Simon Lennox, Headteacher, Walkden High School
Tanya Callman, Barrister and Legal Trainer, Edulaw Training and Edulaw Chambers
Karen Hamer, Inclusion Officer, Salford City Council
