GCFLearnFree Adds More Than 50 Articles to Its Collection

New content focuses on digital technology, allowing users to learn about using Craigslist, OpenTable, and Wikipedia, as well as understanding how to shop online safely and choose a computer.

Raleigh, NC, July 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- GCFLearnFree, an online-based educational organization, has added more than 50 articles and lessons to its existing offerings, bringing the total number of topics covered on the site to 163 and the total number of lessons to 1,456.

The new lessons focus on educating learners to better use technology in their day-to-day lives. Topics include effectively using Craigslist, OpenTable.com, Prezi, and Wikipedia; shopping online safely and securely, including finding reviews and purchasing online tickets; understanding the sharing economy using examples like Uber and AirBNB; using Bluetooth and understanding app permissions for smartphones; and choosing an email service, recovering passwords, and fixing broken links.

Some articles include step-by-step text-based instructions, while others use video to demonstrate how to do things like finding recipes online and getting directions with Google Maps.

“Our technology program has been popular for years, but we still see opportunities for growth. This new direction in curriculum creation is designed to fill in gaps in our content in an effort to provide a complete beginner with all of the tools he or she would need to become comfortable and proficient with technology,” says Jessica Rich, curriculum coordinator. “We also recognize that technology is ever increasingly a part of the everyday, so many of these new lessons address topics that empower people to use technology to make their lives better.”
