Construction Expands at NSC
Oswestry, United Kingdom, July 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Construction Department at the Oswestry Campus of North Shropshire College (NSC) is expanding. In September, the College will be offering Level 1 in Electrical Installation and Levels 1 and 2 Plumbing, Levels 1 and 2 in Building Maintenance Operations (BMO) and Levels 1 and 2 in Bricklaying.
Electrical Installation and BMO are new for September 2015 and work is well under way converting old teaching space into modern workshops and individual bays for this new curriculum.
There are strong applications to date for all Construction courses; the area has grown considerably, with a 400% increase in Plumbing applications alone over the past 12 months.
Due to rapid expansion in this curriculum area, the College is looking to recruit tutors from an Electrical and Plumbing background on a full or part-time basis. For anyone within the trade who would like to become a tutor, the College is able to support them with PGCE training as part of the remuneration package.
Sharon Cooper, Head of Department for Commercial Services comments, "We are delighted to expand the curriculum further within the Construction Department. The past year has been hugely successful, we are fortunate to have had such a dedicated team of staff. As a College we feel we are meeting the employment needs of the local community within the Construction industry."
There is still time to apply for courses starting this September, you can do so now via the College website at www.nsc.ac.uk or you can contact the Admissions Team via 01691 688080. The College has an Advice and Guidance Evening available on Wednesday 2nd September 4pm-8pm for anyone wanting to find out more. The job descriptions for both tutor roles can be found on the College website via http://www.nsc.ac.uk/help-and-support/jobs.
