Tangible IP Announces the Sale of Amperometric Diagnostic Analysis Patent Portfolio
6th Patent Sale in 2015 for the Premiere IP Brokerage Firm
Seattle, WA, July 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Tangible IP, LLC, an international patent brokerage and Intellectual Property advisory firm headquartered in Seattle, with offices in San Francisco and Montreal, announced today the sale of a patent portfolio pertaining to Amperometric Diagnostic Analysis technology belonging to Tall Oak Ventures, LLC (TOV). The specifics of the agreement and the identity of the buyer were not disclosed.
In the 1990's, TOV developed an improved amperometric technology to help provide more accurate glucose readings to the millions of people suffering from diabetes or other predicaments requiring regular measurements. Several years later, the industry leaders have now adopted the same approach pioneered by the inventors. After attempts to interest large medical device manufacturers to take a license to the patents failed, TOV turned to Tangible IP to help sell the portfolio. A few months later, Tangible IP was able to find strategic buyer that will give a second life to this innovative technology.
“After doing our research on several patent brokerage firms, we were impressed with tangible IP’s approach and track record. They have the reputation of selling patents where many others have failed and being true advocates for their clients who will not let relent regardless of how long it might take or how difficult it might be to bring a transaction to fruition,” said Mr. Paul Pottgen, CEO of TOV. “Our experience in this transaction was no different and we were really impressed in how they were able to present our portfolio in the best possible light and negotiate much better terms for us than originally offered. I would definitely recommend Tangible IP to anyone who needs to monetize their patents.”
“Patents in the medical devices usually cater to a smaller audience than in high tech sector and they are consequently harder to monetize,” said Louis Carbonneau, Founder and CEO of Tangible IP. “In this case, we were able to find a strategic buyer who understood the value of the portfolio, both offensively and defensively and was willing to partner with our client in a way that makes sense for both sides. We are gratified that were able to bring non-dilutive capital to another small company that keeps innovating in various areas and can now apply those funds to their next invention. This is the best outcome to inventors who don’t always want to build a business around their ideas.”
Tangible IP, LLC specializes in selling high quality unencumbered patents and has now brokered the sale of over 2000 patent assets since its inception and has returned tens of millions of dollars back to inventors, shareholders and patent owners.
