Loews Philadelphia Hotel Has Rooms Available for Papal Visit
Loews Philadelphia Hotel has rooms available for Papal Visit September 2015.
Philadelphia, PA, July 22, 2015 --(PR.com)-- “We still have hotel rooms available,” according to Loews Philadelphia Director of Marketing Ed O’Boyle. The newly renovated Loews Philadelphia Hotel has approximately 100 of its 581 guest rooms available for the up to 2 million visitors that will visit Philadelphia September 26 and 27 to see Pope Francis during the World Meeting of Families.
The hotel, located at 12th and Market Streets, is in an ideal location, “We are on the scheduled route that the Pope will take to get to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway where he will hold mass,” O’Boyle said adding, “All of our guests will have access to view the processional from an array of locations in the building.
Details indicate that the 78-year-old pontiff will see the largest crowds of his trip during his two-day stay in Philadelphia — the culmination of a tour that includes addresses to Congress and the United Nations. This is the first papal visit since 2008 to the US.
O’Boyle said the perception that there are not rooms available and the frenzy it has created of people booking private homes and locations miles outside the city is not reality. “When the visit was announced we immediately booked a large number of our guestrooms, but things have slowed down and we do have rooms available,” he added.
The hotel has a three night minimum stay at a $599 per night room rate. There are 139 rooms available on September 24th, 136 rooms available on the 25th, 108 rooms available on the 26th and 146 rooms available on the 27th.
“The Loews Philadelphia is centrally located and is walking distance to the Parkway which will be optimal since reports have stated that mass transit will be severely limited and dozens of train stations will be shuttered to allow express service from key suburban rail and subway hubs. Some roads will be closed and parking on others restricted as the events take place,” O’Boyle added.
Pope Francis will attend the Festival of Families on Sept. 26 and celebrate Mass on Sept. 27 outside the Philadelphia Art Museum. The Mass is expected to draw 1 million people to Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The events will conclude the Sept. 22-27 World Meeting of Families, where participants from around the world will discuss crises affecting family life and see performances from Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Colombian pop star Juanes.
