North Shropshire College and the Qube Collaborate on Arts Project

Oswestry, United Kingdom, July 23, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A Level Photography and Fine Art Students from North Shropshire College (NSC) have produced pieces of art inspired by the exhibition ‘Macro Micro’ by award-nominated moving image artist, Katie Goodwin. The students were invited to the Qube Gallery in Oswestry to produce artwork inspired by two films in the exhibition; Art Lecturer Faye Edwards commented, "This has been a fantastic opportunity for the students. They’ve collaborated with a professional artist and gained a unique insight into the world of film artistry. The students used close-up and macro lens photography techniques to capture special effects of smoke and coloured dyes dropped onto water. They’ve create some really beautiful images."

The student’s inspirations were two films, ‘Lightness’ which explores the wonders of the night sky and the issue with light pollution. The second film, a 3D film called ‘Small Wonders’, offers viewers an insight into the world of the amoeba and follows the fifty year career of micro-biologist, Terence Preston. Katie Goodwin commented on the students work, saying "It’s been really exciting to see young people responding so innovatively to my films, a really good marker for the creators of the future!"
