Freehold, NJ, December 05, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Manuel Banzon, Freehold, New Jersey Orthopedic Surgeon, presented the most recent in the current series of public lectures on advanced joint replacement techniques at the CentraState Healthcare Center on Wednesday, November 28 at 7.30pm. The free public lectures are being offered October through to mid December at CentraState in Freehold, and in Jackson and Monroe Township, New Jersey, by the team of board-certified orthopedic surgeons from the Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, NJ.
The lecture “Computer Assisted, Minimally Invasive, Total Hip Surgery” was an encore of an October presentation, repeated by demand. Dr. Banzon, the orthopedic surgeon who performed the first computer assisted knee replacement at CentraState, using the CI System by iOrthopedics, demonstrated the significant benefit of this technique to those suffering from worsening pain and other problems related to the condition of the hip, and who are good candidates for total hip replacement surgery. “The high level of enquiry and pre registrations received for these lectures, and the obvious need for information evidenced in the spirited question and answer sessions at the end of the lecture hour tells us what information active seniors find most helpful.” said Dr Banzon, following the evening’s event. “The audiences are made up primarily by members of the local community always somewhat surprised and immensely reassured to learn both that patients who undergo hip replacements using this minimally invasive, mini-incision approach to surgery generally experience an incredibly fast recovery, a significantly shorter hospital stay and fewer complications and that Freehold residents can benefit from this advanced technology without leaving their community in central New Jersey for that surgery.”
Dr. Banzon started his orthopedic practice in Freehold in 1979 with a philosophy of providing high quality and compassionate patient care. Locally, he pioneered the use of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) in conjunction with Computer Assisted Surgery (CAS) in total joint replacement. He is one of the few surgeons who perform minimally-invasive hip replacements using a two-inch, two-incision technique. The majority of his patients recover in less than half the time it takes after traditional hip replacement surgery.
The next lecture, “Hip Arthroscopy, Hip Resurfacing, and Hip Replacement; Are You a candidate?” to be presented by Dr Alan Nasar of the Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute is scheduled for Tuesday December 11, also at CentraState. Members of the public should call (732) 308-0570 for more information about the location and time, and to register their attendance.
