Alliance is Ready to be Mediator Between Russian Logistics and Retailers
On June 4 the Russian Retail week took place at the Center of World Trade.
Moscow, Russia, July 24, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On June 4 the strategic session “Optimization of supply chain from manufacturer to stallboard” took place at the Center of world trade within the framework of the Russian Retail week.
Joint cooperation of the supply chain participants (producers, retailers and transport companies) resulted decreased logistics cost for goods transfer from the factory to the point of final sales and as a consequence availability of products on the stallboard.
“Logistics costs in Russia amount to over 20% from the goods cost in comparison with 10% in Europe, that is almost twice more than abroad,” comments Miroslav Zolotarev, the Chairman of ACEX Alliance. “That is why these questions are of great importance.”
The reports and own suggestions were made by representatives of Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia, X5Retail Group, M.Video, Procter&Gamble, the biggest Russian trading networks and companies. The participants discussed cooperation of the companies and establishment of unified information space for supply chain management. It was suggested that different networks should have possibility to jointly use vehicles providing each other with return loading, mutually use pallets and more efficiently use resources in order to decrease costs and as a result cost of goods for final consumer.
During round-table discussion a mini-debate concerning complex outsourcing of logistics took place between X5 Retail Group and “FreeLines,” the member of ACEX Alliance.
Thanks to outsourcing the supplier can save on volumes and more efficiently use resources. Level of logistics services outsourcing in Russia is about 30%, whereas in Europe it amounts to over 60%. The representatives of trading networks do not argue with this fact; however they do not trust logistics companies. According to Denis Shulgin, the Logistics director for X5 Retail Group, he is ready to give for outsourcing only that work in which he is incompetent or what he cannot make better or at lower price. Logistics companies should clearly understand business of their clients in order to provide them with required volume and services. Denis Shulga thinks that trading networks fear to use outsourcing because logistics companies do not understand the clients’ processes. However Andrey Vasilenko, the Business development director, “FreeLines,” asserts that this view is preconceived.
Outsourcing of logistics services is one of prospect directions for ACEX Alliance development. Having wide international and regional network of logistics companies (alliance members) the specialists may offer to commercial and industrial companies such level of services which will satisfy business demands. Participation in such events is of great worth to understand business-processes of each client.
Andrey Andreev, the General director of “Lanks,” also participated in the session. According to him communication and interaction of trading networks with the state authorities is required to solve infrastructure, pricing, tax and financial issues, also it is necessary to cooperate with logistics cluster companies.
Such events make it possible to melt the ice and move economic processes forward. In order to achieve such goals Yrysbek Tashbaev, the Head of the Council of professionals for supply chain, organized this event. ACEX Alliance is ready to participate in expanded format in such events, as well as in the work of the Council.
“Regardless of gaps in business understanding of each client, each trading network, in particular such as X5 Retail Group, M,Video or Coca-Cola, the logistics companies have something to say and to offer, and the Alliance consolidates the efforts and information and is ready to become a mediator between trading networks and logistics companies,” states Miroslav Zolotarev.
