Graham's Foundation Announces #champions4preemies Campaign
The global prematurity organization is collecting thank yous for its 2015 Hope, Resilience & Miracles Awards recipients.
New York, NY, July 24, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Graham’s Foundation (http://GrahamsFoundation.org), the premier global organization for parents going through the journey of prematurity, is launching a hashtag campaign to give parents of preemies an opportunity to say thank you to this year's Hope, Resilience & Miracles Awards honorees. Dr. Mia Doron, Dana Wechsler Linden, Emma Trenti Paroli, and Dr. Alan R. Spitzer have done so much to improve outcomes for preemies and families, and now those families can say thank you to all four for their contributions by using the hashtag #champions4preemies on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
"Our honorees were chosen for their commitment to improving outcomes for both preemies and their parents by helping moms and dads navigate the challenges of premature birth, giving them hope, empowering more parental participation in the NICU, and enabling better communication between parents and doctors," said Graham's Foundation president Nick Hall, who founded the organization with his wife Jennifer after they experienced the birth of twins at just 25 weeks before facing the trials of the neonatal intensive care unit and the loss of one child.
Dr. Mia Doron, Dana Wechsler Linden, and Emma Trenti Paroli co-wrote Preemies: The Essential Guide for Parents of Premature Babies, a guidebook sometimes called the definitive guide to prematurity for parents which has touched the lives of moms and dads across the world. Linden and Paroli are both mothers of preemies. Dr. Alan R. Spitzer, a prominent neonatal researcher and former Chief of Neonatology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, wrote the books Intensive Care of the Fetus and Neonate and Fetal and Neonatal Secrets, and is grandfather to a preemie born at 30 weeks gestation.
"These four people, through their writing, advocacy, research, and work in the medical sphere have had an enormous impact on the lives of parents of preemies," Mr. Hall said. "The #champions4preemies hashtag campaign will let those parents express how that work touched their lives."
