Brenda Flick of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties Hosting 37th Annual Sunwood Street Faire
Lake Forest, CA, July 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- One of the most hotly anticipated events in Orange County for 36 years running, this year’s Sunwood Street Faire is certain to shatter all expectations. A community-wide garage sale, the event has been hosted and sponsored by Realtor Brenda Flick of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties since its inception.
This year more than 125 homes, many with multiple sellers, are planning to participate in the Sunwood Street Faire. It is scheduled for July 25 and July 26 near the area where El Toro Road intersects with Toledo Way and Serrano Road in Lake Forest.
“The level of interest and participation has been a surprise for me every year,” notes Flick, adding that the sale has been featured on such high-profile outlets as CNN and Good Morning America.
Shoppers have an endless array of items to choose from at the sale, including cars and boats, toys, clothing, and antiques. Adding to the street faire experience, there will be hot dogs, egg rolls, cookies, coffee and cold drinks available for purchase. The egg rolls that one homeowner makes are so popular that, although she typically prepares more than 2,000 of them to sell at the event, she usually runs out before noon.
“I have people calling me in March or April every year asking for dates and information, so it’s a bit of an understatement to say the sale is highly anticipated,” laughed Flick. “People come from all over California, and there are even some people from out of state who plan their vacations around it.”
Flick’s advice for shoppers is to park in the surrounding neighborhoods, come early and wear comfortable shoes. “The residents of Sunwood are what make this so special,” adds Flick. “There are only 237 homes but the sale averages more than 150 vendors.”
Clothes for the Cause will be picking up any items of unsold clothing, shoes and textiles from sellers that they would like to donate at the end of the sale. The nonprofit will then donate the items to the National Vietnam Veteran’s Foundation.
An Orange County expert with over 36 years of real estate experience, Flick has a complex understanding of the Sunwood community and the surrounding areas in the Saddleback Valley. She is a graduate of California State University in Long Beach and has been proud to call the Sunwood neighborhood her home for many years.
