VoDaVi Technologies, LLC is Awarded Bid for Information Technology Services Contract for the City of Lynn School Department, Lynn, MA.
VoDaVi Technologies, LLC, an industry leading provider of Voice, Data & Video Technology Solutions, announced that it has been awarded the Bid for Information Technology (IT) Services Contract for the for the City of Lynn School Department, Lynn, MA. VoDaVi Technologies provides IT services for Government and Educational Organizations, Municipalities, Non-Profits and Commercial Businesses ranging in size from small to enterprise.
Plymouth, MA, July 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The City of Lynn School Department took the road less traveled when recently searching for their IT service provider. Contrary to common belief, only Massachusetts Executive Branch Departments are required to purchase off the state purchasing contract. While Cities, Towns and many other Government and Educational Organizations are welcomed to use the state contract for ease of purchasing, they also have the option of putting work out for bid and not limiting their organization by strictly working with vendors on the contract. These organizations often shy away from the bid process assuming it is a time consuming and difficult task which is not the case. The City of Lynn School Department, however, took the initiative to put their Managed Services and Network Support Contract out to bid giving them access to a greater selection of IT service providers. Through the bidding process the City of Lynn School Department extended the bid invitation to VoDaVi and other IT companies both on and off the state contract. This initiative has resulted in the City of Lynn School Department receiving significantly better pricing while increasing the quality of service being provided. The closest service provider in price and service offerings came in over $200,000.00 above the next bidder, which happened to be VoDaVi. By choosing to reach out to vendors not currently included on the state contract, the city of Lynn School Department was able to benefit from a significant cost savings as well as secure VoDaVi’s high caliber of service offerings.
VoDaVi’s Chief Operating Officer and Lead Engineer, Chris Friel, couldn’t be happier with the results of the bid process. “We see all too often that municipalities and educational organizations are led to believe they are bound to the state contract when making vendor selections. It goes without saying, when you limit your options you may end up sacrificing cost and service offerings for ease of purchasing. Our hope is to educate other municipalities on their options and encourage them not to limit their organization to the vendors on the state contract. Why narrow your selection to a fraction of vendors when there are a large number of quality service providers similar to VoDaVi who are more than qualified to do the job?” says Friel.
Although the state contract is the right choice for some organizations, for many others there are better options out there. The bid process is just one of the options that should be considered when making vendor selections. By putting contracts and projects out to bid you open your organization up to an array of qualified vendors all working to prove they are the best fit for you. While the bid process may seem like a cumbersome task it is actually much easier than the traditional Request for Pricing (RFP) process. The bid process is not nearly as time consuming and will provide organizations with the same, if not better results as a traditional RFP would.
As of August 1, 2015 VoDaVi Technologies will begin providing Managed IT services to the City of Lynn School Department. This includes but is not limited to monitoring and supporting voice, data and video networks including wireless, implementing upgrades and working together with the City of Lynn School Department’s Information Technology Staff to ensure their infrastructure is stable and running at peak performance. As a Cisco Premier Partner holding Express Collaboration and Video Express Specializations VoDaVi’s professional engineers are fully equipped to manage and support all technology aspects of the City of Lynn School Department.
