Rahway Branch Announces Arts Director
The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch Welcomes Lara Kennedy, Arts Director
Rahway, NJ, August 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch announces the addition of Lara Kennedy in the position of Arts Director at the 1564 Irving Street, Rahway, NJ location. According to Rodger Koerber, Branch Executive Director, "The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch is excited to officially welcome Lara Kennedy as our Arts Director. Lara brings an expansive breadth of knowledge and experience in Arts education.” Most recently, Lara was in the position of Arts Educator in private schools for children with special needs. Her previous experience includes 11 years as an arts educator.
Lara holds a Master’s degree in Teaching: Art Education from Montclair State University and studied textile design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. When asked about her goals, Lara added, “We are designing a strong fall course selection in Arts programming. We have worked really hard to design a full range of offerings and I am really excited to expand our programs in Rahway.”
The Rahway Branch recently completed a $3.4 million renovation project, which included additional Arts program space as well as the construction of five Artist Lofts. The fall program session begins August 31st, with registration beginning August 17th.
