Bryan Brum, an Employee Benefits Attorney for United Parcel Service, Will Speak at 7th Annual Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress
Palm Beach Gardens, FL, August 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Bryan Brum, an Employee Benefits Attorney for United Parcel Service (UPS), will be a speaker at the upcoming 7th Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress in Orlando, FL, from September 27 – 30. Bryan has been with UPS for 23 years, and is responsible for all legal matters concerning UPS’s health and welfare benefits. Recently, he worked on the transfer of health coverage from UPS sponsored healthcare plans to Teamster sponsored multi-employer health and welfare trusts for 180,000 union employees. He previously worked on the implementation of a private exchange for UPS’s post-65 union-free retiree medical benefit, which transitioned retirees to a Medicare coordinator coverage model. Bryan is also responsible for legal support of the UPS Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the charitable arm of UPS.
Mr. Brum is also Certified Public Accountant. Prior to his role at UPS, he worked in the Tax Division at Arthur Andersen. Bryan is a long-time volunteer with Special Olympics and currently serves as a member of the Board of Georgia Special Olympics.
He will speak alongside James Napoli, a Partner at Seyfarth Shaw, on the topic “Strategically Communicating with Employees about Healthcare Reform - What They Don’t Know Can Hurt You.” This session will cover ins and outs of healthcare reform communication. The Affordable Care Act creates a whole host of new employee reporting and disclosure requirements. It also provides employers with a good opportunity to demonstrate to employees the value of the benefits they are receiving. Active coordination and participation between both parties will create a more efficient ease of transition in this significant reform adaptation period. This session is also one of the required classes for the Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® (CHRS) designation.
