Accredited Appliance Offers Tips to Extend Life of Appliances
Regular maintenance can extend the life of appliances, keep them in tip-top shape and protect your investment.
Phoenix, AZ, August 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Anyone who has recently purchased a major appliance knows they are expensive. However, if homeowners perform regular maintenance, they can extend the life of their appliances, keep them in tip-top shape, and protect their investment.
John Kisiel of Accredited Appliance in Phoenix offers the following tips for appliance maintenance:
- Dishwasher - On a regular basis, take a wet sponge and wipe off the door seal to remove any mold and fungus build-up. For the water spray holes in the bottom of the dishwasher, take a paper clip and poke through them to make sure they are not clogged. Your dishwasher may have a filter located near the bottom or under the lower spray arm. This filter should be inspected and cleaned regularly. Once a month, use one or two tablespoons of distilled white vinegar, baking soda or a product such as Affresh to clean your dishwasher. Don’t use too much detergent - several tablespoons or the individual packets provide enough cleaning power.
- Refrigerator - Wipe off the door seals with a wet sponge on a regular basis. At least yearly, vacuum the back of the refrigerator to remove dust from the condenser coils.
- Washing machine - Wipe out the washer with a wet sponge after every use and clean out the detergent cup as needed. Periodically, run an empty load with the washer cleaner that may have been included with your machine or a product like Affresh. Hoses should be replaced every five years because they become brittle and could crack.
Even with regular maintenance, most appliances will need service at some point. “We have been in business more than 30 years and have experience servicing most brands of appliances,” says Kisiel. “We offer same day and emergency service at no extra cost, and have an above-industry standard one-year warranty on all repairs including labor. Customers also can receive a 10 percent discount if they schedule service online.”
