Webster Hall Fall Preview: Includes Wale, The Knocks, DIIV and More Headlining the Grand Ballroom This Fall
New York, NY, August 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Kicking things off on September 9th is critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Cat Power. Cat Power aka Chan Marshall has been making music since the early 90’s but hasn’t lost a step as her latest album, 2012’s Sun made Billboard’s Top 10 albums of the year list and Marshall was nominated for Best International Female Artist at the 2013 BRIT Awards. On September 23rd, Maybach Music’s own Wale takes the stage. Having worked with everyone from Rick Ross and J. Cole to Usher and Rihanna. His most recent release, The Album About Nothing came out earlier this year.
Rap/Rock/Metal band Hollywood Undead is set to take the stage at Webster Hall on October 12th. A combination of aggressive yet wittingly humorous lineup of Johnny 3 Tears, J-Dog, Charlie Scene, Danny, Funny Man and Da Kurlzz is set to perform. October 15th Indie-Pop band Smallpools will perform. Smallpools debut single, “Dreaming” reached the number one spot on The Hype Machine, was featured in Fifa 2014, the season 5 premiere of The Vampire Diaries and served as the soundtrack for Snapchat’s promotional video introducing their Snapchat Stories feature. The Word is the gospel/blues supergroup consisting of Robert Randolph, John Medeski and the North Mississippi All Starts. In May, The Word released Soul Food, their second full length LP and first since 2001. They will be live on October 16th. Gearing up for the release of his third full-length album, Youth Lagoon will be playing at Webster Hall on October 29th. His first two albums The Year Of Hibernation and Wondrous Bughouse, received scores of 8.4 and 8.7 on Pitchfork.com and were both featured on the sites top albums of the year list in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
Setting off the month of November is San Francisco based metal band Deafheaven, who takes the stage on November 5th, just a month after their new album New Bermuda is slated for release. Brooklyn based rock band DIIV is also planning on releasing a new LP this Fall. Comprised of Zachary Cole Smith (formally of Soft Black) Andrew Bailey, Devin Ruben Perez, Colin Caulfield and Colby Hewitt (formally of Smith Westerns), DIIV had their debut album Oshin featured on both Pitchfork and Stereogum’s top 50 albums of 2012 and performed on Late Night With David Letterman. They will be at Webster Hall on November 8th. English Indie-Rock band The Charlatans, will be playing on November 10th. All twelve of The Charlatans albums have charted in the top 40 on the UK album charts, three of them charting at number one. The Guardian gave their latest album, Modern Nature, 4/5 stars. The Knocks are a NYC based electronic music duo known for their remixes. Their most popular remixes frequently earn the number one spot on The Hype Machine and many of their tracks on Soundcloud have garnered hundreds of thousands of plays. They perform at Webster Hall on November 20th.
