Dogly App Helps Local Photographer’s Dog Win Grant, Donates to Humane Society of Utah

A photo-sharing app for dog lovers provides $500 grant given in creator’s name to their chosen shelter.

Murray, UT, August 09, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Through a grant provided by Dogly (www.dogly.com), a free photo-sharing app for dog lovers, Salt Lake City based resident Guinnevere Shuster and her dog, Tubs selected the Humane Society of Utah (HSU) as their shelter of choice to receive a $500 grant awarded for creativity.

Launched earlier this year, Dogly donates to shelter organizations nationwide and enables users to make an impact by sharing photos of adorable dogs and helping their favorite shelter receive grants at the same time. Through the app, users donate their “loves – similar to “likes” – to their favorite animal shelter at no personal cost. Monthly grants are given by Dogly to the organization with the most “loves” and additional grants are given for creativity. Since its launch, Dogly has donated more than $25,000 to over 30 shelters across the country.

“We designed Dogly to bring together two things dog lovers are extremely motivated to do: tell their dogs’ stories visually and give back to the wonderful rescue organizations they love,” said Dogly co-founder Cory Turner. “We often say Dogly is where dogs help dogs and make their humans heroes. Guinn and Tubs are perfect examples of that — using their creativity and the power of photos to shine a light on amazing adopted dogs (like Tubs) as well as on the beautiful adoptable dogs of HSU with every post. And with their creativity grant, they are philanthropists and heroes for the Humane Society of Utah.”

This $500 grant was given to Shuster and Tubs for displaying exemplary creativity within the app. Shuster selected the HSU as her shelter of choice to benefit from the grant in order to help other shelter animals that are still waiting to be adopted.

“I’m very fortunate to be able to use my passion for both photography and animals in such a positive way,” said Guinnevere Shuster, HSU photographer and social media coordinator. “Tubs and I are thankful to Dogly for recognizing our efforts to help other animals find homes at the HSU and we look forward to continuing to use the app to earn more money for the HSU in the future.”

Shuster hopes to make more dog lovers aware of the Dogly app through social media and invite them to select the HSU as their shelter of choice to win additional grants.

Dogly is available for download on iPhone, Android, iPad and Android tablet.
