Palm Springs, CA, August 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Paul Kaplan, President of The Paul Kaplan Group is pleased to announce the expansion of their Palm Springs’ office with the addition of Realtor® Marcelo Lopez. Kaplan welcomed Lopez to the company’s team of expert Realtors saying, “We are very pleased to have Marcelo join us. Marcelo has been representing Coachella Valley buyers and sellers for more than ten years and his extensive international business experience makes him uniquely qualified to represent our clients.”
A native of Mexico City, Lopez earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Prior to beginning his career in real estate in 2005, Lopez developed his business and management acumen with Expotime, an international tradeshow services company, most recently serving as general director. Lopez commented, “Traveling extensively throughout Latin America and the United States allowed me to establish lasting client relationships with executives, ex-patriots, and retirees in the telecomm and other sectors. I continue to serve this client base by helping them create the desert lifestyle of their dreams.”
After relocating to the Coachella Valley in 2004, Lopez embarked on his real estate career in 2005, serving first as Vice President of the Real State Division for CrediCasa until 2007 where he was responsible for the real estate division coordinating sales of real property, customer satisfaction and marketing for the home loan division. From there, he moved into the capacity of Vice President of Project Development for Paseo Bank in Palm Desert. He also developed and implemented new strategies that increased customer base as well as assets.
In 2008, Lopez moved into the role of broker at Desert HomeFinders where he was responsible for identifying low-risk, high-reward projects from end-to-end to effectively market homes. In 2012, he oversaw three new mid-century style home projects for Alta Verde Builders.
Just prior to joining The Paul Kaplan Group, Lopez owned a small, local brokerage that handled sales and lease transactions of land, commercial buildings and residential properties.
Early in his career, Lopez became deeply aware of the impact buying a home can have on people’s lives. Recalling a favorite transaction, he relates, “I sold an entry-level home to an immigrant family who were purchasing their 1st home. At the walk through, I noticed they were having a discussion amongst themselves, and as it turned out that they were worried about putting nails in the wall for artwork and wanted my permission to do so. I explained that they were the owners now and did not require anyone's permission to put artwork on the walls much less mine as their agent. At the time we shared a laugh and moved on, however through the years I often think of that moment and really love the fact that we as agents can have such on impact on people's lives. I wish I could make sure all my clients put holes in their walls.”
Lopez and his wife of 17 years, Nuria are the dedicated parents to two high-school age children. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, and keeping fit.
