Bloomfield Hills, MI, December 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Deal Gateway (www.thedealgateway.com), in association with the Entrepreneur and Investor Exchange, is hosting its Winter Networking Event with a presentation on “Seven Things You Must Know About Raising Money.”
The event will take place from 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 8, at the Birmingham Community House (380 South Bates Street, Birmingham).
Carl Meyering, chairman and CEO of The Meyering Corporation, will be the featured speaker. His presentation will focus on the basic fundamentals of raising capital, the rights investors have, how to approach “Daddy Warbucks,” what do these money people really want, and how to talk to angel investors to ensure their support.
Meyering is a pioneer venture capitalist and an early creator of Angel Investor Groups more than 30 years ago. His Harper Woods-based company, The Meyering Corporation, assists public and private firms and startup companies obtain financing capital. It also specializes in the licensing and evaluation of patents and new inventions and was the first to use patent royalties as a method of financing patent development. Meyering has served on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Center of High Technology and is the immediate past chairman. He was also appointed to the State of Michigan Venture Capital Commission by former Michigan Governor John Engler. Meyering has written articles and spoken to graduate business students at major universities regarding the raising of capital for startup businesses.
Cost for the event is $20 with a reservation by Jan. 7, or $25 at the door. Exhibit tables for those who choose to highlight their product also are available for $100 ($60 for a half table).
