Sept. 9 NAWBO Meeting to Feature Leaders of Valley's Top Women's Business Groups for Panel Discussion
Panel members will address topics such as why Phoenix will benefit from women's economic advancement and the value of collaboration.
Phoenix, AZ, August 16, 2015 --(PR.com)-- A panel of leaders from the Valley’s top women’s business groups will lead a collaborative discussion at the Sept. 9 meeting of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Phoenix Chapter, and their guests. Topics to be addressed by panel members include why Phoenix will benefit from women's economic advancement, what each group is working on, and the specific value of collaboration for individual women business owners.
Featured panelists include:
- Dr. Audrey Iffert-Saleem--executive director, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Initiatives, Arizona State University Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In this role, she coordinates the university-wide effort to advance entrepreneurship education, spearheads the Office’s community engagement strategy and is responsible for the development of transformative university-wide partnerships.
- Mónica Susana Villalobos--vice-president of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is responsible for the operations and marketing of the chamber. Her background and experience as a corporate marketing executive and as an entrepreneur result in a unique combination of skill and talent.
- Dr. Pamela Williamson, president and CEO of WBEC-West (Women’s Business Enterprise Council). The organization’s mission is to cultivate sustainable relationships between Certified Women Business Enterprises and Corporate America through certification, education, and targeted networking. This year, WBEC-West has coordinated over 3,000 connections between WBE's with corporations through a variety of matchmaker opportunities.
- Kathy Lynn-Cullotta, president of the Phoenix Chapter of Ellevate, a global professional women’s network dedicated to the professional and economic engagement of women worldwide. She has extensive experience advising companies about their growth and go-to-market strategies.
- Dana Saylor, Arizona Leader for Take the Lead, an organization that prepares, develops, inspires, and propels all women to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025. She was responsible for coordinating the wildly successful "Lean In" event at Grady Gammage last year with keynote speaker Sheryl Sandberg speaking to a sold-out audience.

NAWBO University
NAWBO University will precede the luncheon meeting (9:30 to 10:45 a.m.) and will focus on the topic of “Networking from a Man’s Perspective.” Mike Bull, principal of the Women's Business Institute, and Phil Singleton, senior front line leader for John Driscoll & Co., will talk with attendees about the ways that men network that may be different from women. Participants can learn their secrets so they will be more effective with their networking conversations and learn about more places to network. Presenters will also have time to answer questions during this interactive session.
