North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association Names Dr. Kristen Hammett as New President
NCVMA Selects Waynesville Veterinarian to Serve on 2015-2016 Executive Board.
Waynesville, NC, August 19, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (NCVMA) has announced the organization’s official 2015-2016 executive officers. Dr. Kristen Hammett, veterinarian at Animal Hospital of Waynesville, will serve as NCVMA’s president. Dr. Hammett received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, and is the owner of the Animal Hospital of Waynesville, the first American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited practice in North Carolina west of Asheville.
Other members of the 2015-2016 executive board include:
- President-elect: Tom Kuhn, DVM, Animal Hospital East in Asheville (resides in Swannanoa).
- Vice President: Steve Stelma, DVM, Animal Care Center in New Bern (resides in Trenton).
- Secretary-Treasurer: Brenda Stevens, DVM, North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Hospital in Raleigh (resides in Raleigh).
- Immediate Past President: Shannon Foy, DVM, Brentwood Veterinary Center in Wilson (resides in Goldsboro).
The executive officers, working with the board of directors, will provide guidance on all NCVMA activities and initiatives, as well as oversight of strategic planning and future direction of the organization. Founded in 1902, NCVMA is a professional organization of veterinarians dedicated to compassionate animal care and quality veterinary medicine.
