The Musical Comedic Genius of Sean Altman's Jewmongous is Making It's Way to the Ridgefield Playhouse

Sean Altman, in addition to being the founder and former leader of Rockapella, is part of a new breed of Jewish hipster comedy that includes Jon Stewart, Sacha Baron and Sarah Silverman. He is hilarious while drawing upon his Jewish heritage relating those bits of life we can all identify. He will do just that as he brings his “Jewmongous” to The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts on Thursday, December 20 at 8 p.m.

Ridgefield, CT, December 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Sean Altman, in addition to being the founder and former leader of Rockapella (who have played to sold-out audiences at The Playhouse), is part of a new breed of Jewish hipster comedy that includes Jon Stewart, Sacha Baron and Sarah Silverman. He is hilarious while drawing upon his Jewish heritage relating those bits of life we can all identify. He will do just that as he brings his “Jewmongous” to The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts on Thursday, December 20 at 8 p.m. as part of the Bruce Bennett Nissan Comedy Series. Please note that this performance is not appropriate for those younger then the age of 13 due to adult themes and occasional language.

This “absurdly talented performer” (Village Voice) has “killer hooks” (Time out NY), “a cynical edge” (Philadelphia Daily News) and a “silky tenor voice that produces chills” (NY Times). Sean Altman is a member of the Loser’s Lounge series in Manhattan, sings with Kol Zimra Jewish Acapella and pitches Astelin nasal spray on television as a member of the acapella group The GrooveBarbers. In short, Sean is (as he puts it) a highly exposed mensch, albeit a potty-mouthed one. But, with hits like “They Tried To Kill Us (We Survived, Let's Eat)”, “Blow, Murray, Blow!” and “Be My Little Shabbos Goy”, you know it’s going to be a night of comedy that even the goyim will love.
