Makati City, Philippines, August 25, 2015 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday, 27th August Fred Kumetz, Chief Executive Officer & Founder of eData Services U.S., LLC will preside over a session on cyber threats to the health data management industry at this year’s HIMS Conference to be held at the Peninsula Hotel in Makati, Manila, The Philippines.
Organized under the auspices of the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), of which Kumetz is a past President, the Conference will focus around the central theme of ‘Meet Great Minds. Seize the Opportunities’. Delegates will include stakeholders from all sectors of the Healthcare Information Management community from across the Philippines and beyond.
The session that will be conducted by Kumetz will be entitled "Fraudsters, Hackers, and other Cyber Threats: How to strengthen Data Privacy and HIPAA Compliance" and take place during the afternoon of the one day event as part of the Business & Technology Track‘s breakout groups.
The aim of the presentation will be to demonstrate that as healthcare data is highly sensitive it is therefore at high risk and then illustrate what can be achieved through Electronic Health Records and the early adoption of new technologies to mitigate this risk.
eData's Chief Executive Officer, Fred Kumetz, stated:
“Everyone in the industry is well aware of the threats that are posed by the inappropriate handling, storage and management of sensitive healthcare data but with the application of new technologies and their accompanying strict security protocols it is possible to provide safe and compliant services. eData have been pioneers in this field for over 15 years and as we have a sizeable presence in the Philippines I was delighted to be invited to present some practical insight on the subject matter.”
Commencing at 8.30 am on the day and with registration required through www.himsconference it looks to be another important milestone in the continuing development of this cornerstone BPO sector in the Philippines.
