Architectural Surfaces Inc. Supplies High-End Perforated Acoustical Ceiling for Livingston Lord Library

Minnesota State University Moorehead renovates antiquated 55-year-old library.

Moorehead, MN, August 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- When an outdated university library was in need of a face-lift, Architectural Surfaces, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-end custom acoustical wall and ceiling systems, was called upon to provide their expertise. Working with Floor to Ceiling Carpet One located in Fargo, North Dakota and Golden Valley Supply Company, based in Minnesota, Architectural Surfaces supplied its Acoustigreen Selectwood Perforated 2x4 Ceiling and Wall Panels to satisfy the updated design and acoustical needs of the library.

Livingston Lord Library at Minnesota State University Moorehead began renovations of the entire building in January 2012. The library was in need of a remodel to match its students’ needs, as well as an update of its antiquated ceilings and walls. Floor to Ceiling Carpet One supplied roughly 10,000 square feet of Acoustigreen Selectwood Perforated Panels in a maple finish, accommodating the acoustical needs of the newly modernized space. The panels have standard perforations with custom capabilities allowing sound to pass through and be absorbed by the acoustical treatment behind them. The panels lend a comfortable environment for the students and staff at the university, as well as a fresh look to the library’s layout.

“It has been great working with Architectural Surfaces throughout the entire project,” says Bryan Vidden, partner at Floor to Ceiling Carpet One. “We purchased all of the products through our distributor, Golden Valley Supply Company, and received a timely delivery. In order to improve the acoustics, we knew that Architectural Surfaces would supply us with the products we needed based on its sound properties, as well as obtain the look we wanted with its range of high-end finishes.”

Architectural Surfaces has worked with many universities, refurbishing student unions and science centers and providing upscale dorm room solutions. Its involvement in the renovation of the Livingston Lord Library was given the CISCA Construction Excellence Award, an honor from the Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association, the recognized authority and resource for acoustical ceiling and wall systems committed to providing solutions to contractors through education, leadership and networking opportunities.

“We are happy to work with companies like Floor to Ceiling Carpet One and Golden Valley Supply Company to provide the best in acoustical products to address the specific audio needs of this space,” says Jon Mestad, Vice President of Architectural Surfaces, Inc. and Acoustigreen. “When universities are looking to update their walls and ceilings, we pride ourselves in being able to provide a solution that looks as great as it sounds. We will continue to give our clients first-rate products that will compliment any design or project they have in mind.”
