Outsource Equipment Appoints Operations Manager
Wes Simmons Assumes Responsibility for daily operations activities, including warehouse operations, logistics, e-commerce and ERP initiatives.
Oviedo, FL, August 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Outsource Equipment Company is pleased to announce that William “Wes” Simmons has been named operations manager for the leading material handling equipment distributor. A proven business leader possessing significant broad experience managing diverse personnel in single and multi-unit environments, he first joined Outsource Equipment as a consultant.
Prior to these roles, Simmons worked an independent management consultant and spent 19 years in various operations positions. He held high-level management roles within Vulcan Materials Company and Florida Rock Industries, successfully leading 30 unique manufacturing and support facilities, as well as 225 employees, through wildly varying economic conditions. During that time he greatly increased profitability by driving ROCE from 0.6% to 9.0%.
Simmons also continues in his role as Owner/General Manager of School of Rock Oviedo, reflecting his passion for music.
“Wes brings significant operations and project management experience to his role at Outsource Equipment Company,” says Mark Smith, president. “What’s more, he has a deep understanding of the mechanics of a small business, since he is a small business owner himself.”
At Outsource Equipment Company, Simmons’ focus is on process improvement and overall efficiency, through analysis, planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
“We look forward to Wes creating even greater efficiency for our company and our clients,” Smith adds. “In this role he contributes substantially to our ongoing success and will be a significant driver of future initiatives that we’ll be announcing at a later date.”
Simmons earned his BS in mechanical engineering and his MBA in business at the University of Florida. He lives in Oviedo with his wife Carrie and two children: Ian, 9, and Colin, 11.
