O.U.R. Host Charity Gala to Rescue Children in Sex Trafficking
Anaheim, CA, September 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.) is excited to announce its annual Gala to raise funds to rescue kidnapped children from sex slavery around the world. This year the theme of the evening is “Homecoming,” which will reflect on the hope of pulling these children out of the horrible lives they are trapped in, and celebrate the rescue of over 300 victims to date.
This event will be an evening for supporters to learn more about O.U.R.’s work to rescue children from sex slavery and bring their traffickers to justice. The event will be hosted by Actress Marisol Nichols and will include musical performances by Lindsey Stirling and Lexi Walker. Norma Bastidas, the record holder of the world’s longest triathlon, will speak on her abduction survivor story.
O.U.R. founder, Tim Ballard, will also share personal experiences from his work as a former government operative and O.U.R. rescue team leader. Mr. Ballard spent more than a decade as an undercover agent for the CIA Homeland Security where he fought terrorism and Internet crimes against children. This experience has been the foundation for O.U.R., which uses cutting-edge technology and human intelligence, while partnering with local law enforcement, to find child predators, liberate enslaved children and dismantle the criminal networks. O.U.R. relies solely on donations to fund these rescue missions.
Additionally, as hotels across America have become a hub of trafficking, O.U.R. is teaming up with the Hotel Industry to present the first ever Liberator Award at the Gala. This award will be given to a hotel employee who has displayed courage and determination to make a significant impact in the effort against human trafficking.
