Las Vegas, NV, September 06, 2015 --(PR.com)-- GRADD CO. (Global Robot And Drone Deployment) of Las Vegas announced today that Stephen Lloyd, the former Director for Safety of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO), has joined GRADD as its new President. With nearly 40 years of experience in air traffic and aviation safety, Stephen will provide his expertise to guarantee the safe and legal integration of GRADD's unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operations into the National Airspace System (NAS).
As the number of UAS operations in the United States continues to grow, GRADD and its training partners have created and are providing educational programs to ensure that UAS are safely integrated into our Nation's Airspace. The number of UAS entrants in the NAS is staggering, moreover, the lack of basic safe piloting skills, and far too many close calls with piloted aircraft, is ever evident. Safety is the number one priority of GRADD, and Mr. Lloyd's decorated history of FAA experience will provide GRADD with vast NAS operational experience and a perspective that is not readily available to most commercial entities. By bringing together commercial and governmental expertise, GRADD has begun taking the lead in creating the standard for safe operations of UAS.
“I am so proud to be a part of the aerospace and aviation industry over the last four decades. Much has been accomplished during my tenure with the FAA, as we brought forward new technology and innovation to enhance safety and efficiency to improve the NAS. I am honored to now be a vital part of the GRADD team. GRADD's vision is to provide its customers, students, and partners a level of expertise in the world of autonomous operations that is based on a foundation of excellence. As we launch our UAS research, educational programs, and operational deployments, we will be looking to others in this industry with whom to form partnerships, a critical component of national and international success for this industry. Become a part of GRADD's vision. Visit our website (www.GRADD.co) and join us in our journey to be the gold standard for UAS operations,” said Stephen Lloyd.
"Stephen is a great advocate for the safe integration of UAS into the NAS. I am delighted to have Stephen join our team at GRADD. Together, we will continue to develop a strong ecosystem in Nevada where operators of UAS can safely test, evaluate, operate and develop solutions for various commercial applications - such as filming, precision agriculture, structural inspections, firefighting, and law enforcement. Stephen's input, guidance, and leadership will be invaluable to GRADD and our partners, as this industry matures," said Reza Karamooz, CEO of GRADD.
