Restaurants Offer Special Picnic Selections for Founder's Day in Cameron Village
Several restaurants in Cameron Village are offering special picnic dinners for the September 18 Night at the Movies. Make it a work-free evening for the family with an easy pick-up dinner and a free outdoor movie, car show and gourmet popcorn.
Raleigh, NC, September 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Several Cameron Village restaurants will provide picnic carry-out selections for the Founder’s Day celebration on Friday evening, September 18, 2015. Customers are reminded to call restaurants directly to place orders; prices are for take-out only; and customers must specify that the order is for Cameron Village movie night. Participating restaurants include: Café Carolina, Cameron Bar & Grill, Moe’s, Sugarland, Piccola Italia, Village Deli and Village Draft House. Founder’s Day Night at the Movies begins with a classic car show at 5 pm and the movie begins at 8 pm. The Cameron Village Merchants’ Association will provide free gourmet popcorn.
Cameron Village opened in the fall of 1949, the first mixed use development in Eastern North Carolina. A movie theater was part of the original Village development, a surprise to many of today’s Village patrons. The lease was signed before the shopping center opened, although the Consolidated Theaters movie house did not actually show its first film until 1951.
