Jason Consolacion, Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter, Releases New Single "Prove It"
New York, NY, September 09, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Big Noise and singer-songwriter Jason Consolacion proudly announce the release of the artist's new single, 'Prove It,' the second from Jason's self-titled EP. The track is a rhythmically-driven acoustic love song, playful in nature and stylistically evident of a solo Paul McCartney influence, much like the EP's first single, 'Bundle of You.'
The New York City-based singer-songwriter is riding high on his independent release, promoting it with live shows in the tristate area and fueling online sales with his YouTube series, 'The Days Off Series.' Jason releases one-song performances of originals and his favorite covers and remakes, including renditions of songs by the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Weezer, Elvis Presley, Green Day, Peter Gabriel, Elton John and Michael Jackson.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the son of a concert pianist, Jason began playing music at an early age. Driven by the influence of his mother, he became a dedicated student of the arts, engulfing himself in multiple genres and art forms. After moving to Houston, TX, Jason learned to play guitar and started writing his own music. He eventually graduated from the city's prestigious High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and began working with Houston-based producer MD Thompson of Ivory Tower Realizations, with whom he has collaborated with on 8 albums since 2003.
Jason's influences include the aforementioned McCartney, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, The Police, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton and The Beatles, among many others.
The singer-songwriter has played at such venues as Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, The Cutting Room, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Cornelia Street Cafe, Arlene's Grocery, Caffe Vivaldi, and Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City; Genghis Cohen's in Los Angeles; Middle East, The Burren, The Asgard, and Skybar in Boston; and Ovations Jazz Club, Anderson Fair, Main Street Crossing, McGonigel's Mucky Duck and The Artery in Houston. Jason has also performed at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, in 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2013.
Jason's discography includes the Uncertain Air EP (2003), Everything's OK (2004), Acoustic Boogaloo (2005), The Pool Table Matter EP (2006), November Sessions (2012), Streaming the Mains (2012), and the Jason Consolacion EP (2014), all of which can be purchased on iTunes and streamed on Spotify.
Jason is also one-half of an acoustic folk-pop duo called FAKIN' IT, in which he plays guitar and sings alongside jazz vocalist Zack Foley. In addition to their original compositions, they double as a Simon & Garfunkel tribute group. The duo released its self-titled debut EP in 2013, also available on iTunes and Spotify.
In 2014, Jason signed on with the artist development firm Big Noise, which has worked with the likes of Christina Aguilera, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chicago, The Beach Boys, Katharine McPhee, Bela Fleck and Dionne Warwick. Because of Big Noise's efforts, Jason was placed on the Official Ballot by The Recording Academy for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Album.
